    Women finally are experiencing some consistency with their appointments to CEO positions. No, it’s not perfect, but there is progress being made, and anytime there is seismic change of this kind, it’s imperfect, it takes time — and those pushing beyond the glass ceiling will face reservations, many times, by those, who should supporting them most: other women.

    In the Forbes Women article, Power Women on the Verge: Who’s Next in Line for CEO?, Jenna Goudreau stated, “On this year Forbes list of the world’s 100 most powerful women there are a total of 29 chief executives and quite a few more who may soon be. Currently in the U.S. only 2.8% of the nation’s largest 1000 companies are headed by women. Keeping them in the pipeline is of critical importance to increasing this figure—and ensuring it doesn’t fall further. Across industries, we identified women who are pounding on the door, and may soon reach the highest peaks of their company hierarchies.”
