    The way you conduct yourself during a business meal speaks volumes about you. Choose a restaurant quiet enough to carry on a conversation without straining.

    For many of us,  wining and dining clients comes with the job, whether over a power lunch or a formal dinner. Such meals always made me feel like a nervous teenager going out on a first date:  Will I eat too messily or spill my drink? Will conversation lag? Will this lead to a long-term relationship?

    In today’s WSJ, restaurant expert Nina Zagat, co-founder of the eponymous guides, provides her take on navigating business meals. Her words of wisdom focus on business dinners, but can just as easily be applied to other meals, too. Some of her chief bits of advice:

    –Before choosing a restaurant, find out (if you can) about your diners’ food and location preference. Choose a restaurant quiet enough to carry on a conversation without straining.
